SQUIRREL! A.K.A. The Dug Syndrome

SQUIRREL! A.K.A. The Dug Syndrome

Many times we have a set goal in front of us and are pumped to accomplish it. Then, out of the blue, we see something that attracts us and seems like something we should change course for. Sometimes it is, but sometimes it’s a SQUIRREL moment.

If you’ve ever seen the Pixar film UP, you’ll know that Dug quickly became a favorite for his many catchphrases. One of them being SQUIRREL! Whenever Dug needed to focus he would get distracted by the squirrel that was never actually seen or attainable.

So many times we get excited by a possibility that is not actually seen or attainable but feels like we should give it some attention. After realizing it’s not real we end us losing our original idea and motivation.

In today’s show, we talk about the importance of avoiding those SQUIRREL! moments.

Here are today’s quotes:

“Get a good idea, and stay with it. Dog it, and work at it until it’s done, and done right.” – Walt Disney (The Quotable Walt Disney)

Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways. – Proverbs 4:26
